Nuestro laboratorio tiene como objetivo principal la caracterización de nuevas dianas terapéuticas, así como el estudio de los mecanismos implicados en la progresión tumoral y metástasis en el cáncer colorrectal. Nuestro enfoque del problema se basa en el estudio sistemático de las alteraciones de genes, proteínas y otras moléculas que se producen en muestras de plasma, tejidos y/o células tumorales metastáticas mediante la aplicación de herramientas -ómicas avanzadas, como la transcriptómica, el RNA-seq o la espectrometría de masas. Nuestro interés científico va desde los estudios básicos y mecanicistas del microambiente tumoral, la transición epitelio-mesénquima y la biología de la metástasis hasta la investigación traslacional para el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas terapéuticas (anticuerpos, péptidos e inhibidores) frente a dianas como cadherina 17 (CDH17) o IL13Ralpha2.
