At the solemn event held at the RANF headquarters, she gave a lecture entitled "Molecular mechanisms of immunomodulation. Studies from computational chemistry". She was introduced by Prof. José Carlos Menéndez Ramos, Full Academician and president of the "Chemistry and Physics" Section.
Sonsoles holds a PhD in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she completed her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Avendaño and Prof. Espada. in the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She made her first postdoctoral stay at the Imperial College London (1998-2000), in Prof. Rzepa's group, and a second postdoctoral stay at the University of Alcalá (2001-2003), in Prof. Gago's group.
