
The ELA-Madrid Network led by Dr. Ana Martínez, researcher of the Medical and Biological Translational Chemistry Group of the Biological Research Center, held a scientific-informative meeting on June 24th in this center to commemorate the World Day of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, celebrated on June 21st from 1997.
The conference brought together researchers, medical doctors, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry as well as patients, thus achieving a very promising synergy for collaboration in the development of effective drugs to combat ALS.
The session was inaugurated by the CIB Director, Dr. Enrique J. de la Rosa and Dr. Ana Martínez and counted with the participation of Dr. Mike Snape, CEO of AMO Pharma, Dr. Javier Riancho, neurologist at Valdecilla Hospital, the researchers Alberto García-Redondo, Isabel Lastres-Becker, Sergio Gascón, Valle Palomo and Eva de Lago, as well as the Director of the Luzón Foundation, May Escobar, and Pepe Tarriza, of the Platform of affected by the ELA, both representing the patients.
