On March 24-25, EPI-CATCH leaders met for the first time face-to-face since the beginning of the Action in September 2020, at the CIB. During the meeting, the Project activities for 2022 were organized as well as the dissemination strategy. The annual conference, several scientific workshops, webinars, and training schools about different technologies and hot topics in plant epigenetics will be held in various European countries under the frame of the EPI-CATCH project. Short scientific missions, networking activities, and other mobility actions were also launched.
EPI-CATCH partners, from more than 22 countries, investigate epigenetic mechanisms modulating plant adaptation to environmental stresses driven by climate change, like drought, salinity, extreme temperatures, and pathogens.
The objective of this project is to develop and share new breaking knowledge to assist the agricultural biotechnological industry in next-generation crop breeding activities based on epi-molecular markers and innovative technologies to enhance the environmental sustainability of agriculture in a rapid climate change scenario.
During the meeting, it was decided that CIB will host the next EPICATCH Workshop on “Plant epigenetics: from Methodologies to Applications” on May 10-11, organized by Dr. Pilar S. Testillano.
